Perspectives from across industries and engagement types.

"We came to Vossway with a reasonably well-defined question about operational risk. What we received went beyond what we'd framed. The heat map and monitoring framework have been in active use since the engagement closed. The transition session was particularly useful — our team could pick it up independently."

"The digital readiness review gave us a clear picture of where we actually stand — not where we'd assumed we stood. The benchmarking data was genuinely useful context. One or two sections of the roadmap needed adjustment when we started implementation, but that was expected given the pace of change in our sector."

"Mergers are genuinely complex at the cultural level, and I'd assumed that was something we'd have to navigate ourselves. Vossway's integration planning engagement gave us frameworks and language to have conversations we'd been avoiding. The stakeholder communication plan held together through to completion."

"What I valued most was that the Vossway team was straightforward about what the engagement could and couldn't do. There was no overselling at the outset. The risk register they produced is something our board now references in quarterly reviews — it's become a working document rather than a filing cabinet report."

"We'd had a digital strategy review done previously by a larger firm and found that their recommendations required their own tools and ongoing relationship to implement. Vossway's approach was different — the roadmap was genuinely ours to use. The bilingual capability also helped with our cross-functional team."

"The integration planning engagement helped us understand what was likely to cause problems before problems occurred. We'd underestimated the cultural gap between the two organisations. Having an external team name those tensions clearly — without political consequence — was the most valuable part of the whole programme."

Three engagements in detail.

Challenge

A logistics firm with unclear risk exposure ahead of expansion

A mid-sized Hong Kong logistics operator was preparing to extend into two new market segments. Leadership had concerns about operational and regulatory risk but lacked a structured way to assess it. Internal resources were committed to the expansion itself and could not run a parallel assessment process.

Solution

Vossway conducted a four-week Strategic Risk Assessment, interviewing 11 stakeholders across operations, finance, and the legal function. Scenario modelling focused on the two new segments and their interaction with existing operations. A risk register with 34 identified risks — ranked by probability and impact — was delivered alongside a heat map and mitigation framework.

Outcome

Leadership used the register to prioritise pre-expansion preparation, addressing 8 of the 12 high-priority risks before market entry. The monitoring framework was adopted by the CFO's office as an ongoing quarterly process. The expansion proceeded on the original timeline with a clearer picture of the exposure being carried.

Challenge

A professional services firm unable to assess its own digital maturity

A 180-person professional services firm in Central had received conflicting signals about how digitally capable they were relative to their sector. The technology team held an optimistic view; the operations team did not. Senior leadership wanted a neutral assessment before committing budget to a multi-year technology programme.

Solution

Vossway's Digital Readiness Review over three weeks involved systems inventory, structured interviews with 9 team members across functions, and benchmarking against comparable firms in the sector. A maturity assessment across six dimensions was produced alongside a phased digital roadmap prioritising initiatives by impact and internal feasibility.

Outcome

The firm found that their infrastructure was more mature than assumed but that data governance and team capability required attention before any significant new technology investment. The roadmap was used as the basis for a revised technology budget proposal. Two of the three prioritised initiatives were underway within six months of the engagement concluding.

Challenge

Two firms merging with different operating cultures and values

Two financial services boutiques in Hong Kong were in the final stages of a merger agreed at board level. The structural terms were settled. What hadn't been addressed was the cultural distance between the two organisations — different approaches to hierarchy, different client communication norms, and different views on how decisions should be made.

Solution

Vossway ran a seven-week Mergers & Integration Planning engagement, beginning with a cultural alignment assessment that involved interviews with 16 staff members across both firms. Operational integration mapping identified 23 workstreams requiring coordination. A stakeholder communication framework and a leadership transition plan were developed in parallel.

Outcome

The cultural gap analysis enabled the joint leadership team to address tensions that had been visible but unnamed. Staff retention through the first year of the merged entity was higher than the leadership team had projected. The communication framework was cited by both founding CEOs as the most practically useful deliverable from the engagement.
